Confined Space Inspection

Drones can help inspectors avoid dangerous areas and get a better understanding of the situation before taking any further action. This is especially important in confined spaces where there may be hazardous conditions present.

Construction Inspection

Drone construction inspections are safer than traditional methods because they eliminate the need for workers to be on site. This means that there is no risk of injury or other hazards. Drones are also able to capture high-resolution images and videos that can provide a clear picture of the condition of your construction site.

Construction Time Lapse

A time-lapse can be used for site monitoring, to ensure that the project is proceeding on schedule. You can also use it to troubleshoot any potential problems that may arise. By having a time-lapse of the construction site, you can keep track of the progress and ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.

Drone Survey

Drones are faster at surveying because they can cover a large area very quickly. This means that you will be able to get the data that you need much more quickly and efficiently than if you were to use traditional methods. This allows you to gather more data in a shorter period of time, so you can make better decisions in a shorter amount of time.

Measured Building Survey

At Skykam, we provide building surveys using drones. We believe that this technology provides the most accurate results. Drones allow us to work more quickly and efficiently, which means cheaper surveys. We are always looking for new ways to improve our services, and we believe that drones are the future of property surveying.

Roof Inspection

Yes, roof inspections are important, but they can be difficult and dangerous to do. That’s why using a drone for roof inspection is such a great idea. With our experience in roof surveys, we can help you get the most accurate information about your roof possible. We are Scotland’s drone roof survey experts.

Land Survey

Drones Allow You To Gather Data More Efficiently. Drones are becoming an increasingly popular option for land surveys due to their speed and accuracy. A full 3D model can be created from the data collected by a drone, providing a detailed and accurate picture of the surveyed area. This can save time and money compared to traditional topographical survey methods.

Quarry Survey

Quarry surveys are the perfect way to map out specific sites for excavation or storage of mineral resources. This information can be used for a variety of purposes, such as planning an excavation project or determining how much storage space is available. With accurate quarry mapping, you can make sure your project goes as smoothly as possible!

See What Our Drones See In VR!

We even have full VR headsets that allow you to see what our drones see in real-time!

With our drones, you can experience a full 360° VR real time during flight. This means that you can see every possible angle and make sure that the data we’re capturing meets your expectations. You can even wear the headset while we fly the drone, so you can get a closer look at the data we’re capturing.

Drone Services FAQ

Is Skykam Drone Services licensed by the CAA?

Yes – As a licensed commercial operator, we are governed by the Civil Aviation Authority.

How much do your services cost?

Every job has its own set of requirements, so we make a custom package for each client. We don’t charge per photo as other companies might – instead it’s priced by the hour and you get full access to all the data or photos captured during that time period!

How long can you fly your drone?

The maximum flight time is 30 minutes, assuming average conditions. However, on average, we replace the battery in our drones after flying for 22 minutes. On shoots, we carry extra batteries. It only takes a few minutes to change the battery and get back in the air.

Can you fly indoors?

Yes – We can fly indoors but we need a large, open indoor space. We may do a test flight and measure if it is eligible.

Can you fly in the wind and rain?

We do not fly in strong winds or rain. We can fly in winds of up to 22 miles per hour. In winds of up to 15 mph, our innovative camera gimbal technology produces exceptionally smooth views.

Our drones can fly in light rain, but rain on the camera lenses can ruin a photo.

What if we have bad weather on the day?

If we have to re-schedule a date because of weather, the booking deposit is transferred to the new date. We monitor the weather forecast 5 days in advance of any shoot. If we both decide to stay with the day and we have bad weather, our pilots will wait on-site.

Can you fly close to people and buildings?

Our CAA approval clearly defines where and how we can fly.

The main operational conditions for a small unmanned aircraft SUA are:
• Maintaining a distance of 50m from people and property not in control of the pilot.
• During take off and landing maintain a distance of 30m from people and property not in control of the pilot.
• Permission of the landowner to take off and land.
• Directly overhead or within a minimum distance of 150m from an open air assembly of over 1000 people.
• Maximum height of 400ft above ground level.
• Maintain visual line of sight of the SUA to a maximum distance of 500m.
• During daylight hours, so that you can clearly see the SUA and take avoiding action from other air users if required.
• Outside of controlled airspace.
• Restrictions apply to certain areas of Central London and additional permissions to fly in these areas need to be sought from the CAA.
• Restrictions and rules apply to flying near an airport and aerodrome.

How precise can you fly?

Our autopilot software allows us to fly very precise predetermined flight patterns for specific commercial applications.

Can I see the live video feed during a shoot?

You can see anything that is being filmed, we receive a live feed from the drone. We even have VR headsets you can wear while we fly.

Do you cover more than Edinburgh?

Yes, we provide more than drone services in Edinburgh. We also cover the whole of Scotland including Dundee, Aberdeen, Perth, Inverness, Glasgow, London, Arbroath, manchester, stirling, st andrews, Newcastle and Montrose.
