Privacy notice

Skykam Ltd (“Skykam”, “we”; company number SC662275, 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH2 4AN) is the controller of personal data collected through this website and in the course of our survey work. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details you submit: name, organisation, email, phone, site location and project information.
  • Correspondence with us by email or phone.
  • Website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies: pages viewed, how you arrived, device and browser type and approximate location, collected by Google Analytics.
  • During survey flights, incidental imagery of people, vehicles or property may be captured. We plan flights to minimise this.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes (legitimate interests and steps prior to a contract).
  • To deliver and invoice survey services (contract).
  • To meet legal, insurance and CAA record-keeping obligations (legal obligation).
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it, through Google Analytics (consent, which you can withdraw at any time through Cookie settings in the footer).

Who processes it for us

  • Cloudflare: hosts this website and relays enquiry form submissions to our mailbox.
  • Google Workspace: our email and business accounts.
  • Google Analytics: website analytics, only with your consent.
  • Our accountants and insurers, where needed to invoice work or handle a claim.

We do not sell personal data, and we share it only with these providers under contract or where required by law. Survey project data is processed in the UK. Some of the providers above may process enquiry and analytics data outside the UK; where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.

Retention

Survey data is kept until it’s handed over to you, then deleted from our systems, so please keep your own copy. Enquiries that don’t become projects are deleted after 24 months. We keep business records such as quotes, invoices and flight logs for as long as the law requires, to meet accounting, insurance and CAA obligations. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent, or request portability. Contact jamie@skykam.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Data protection registration
